Planning and Zoning Initiative
The NY State Office for the Aging and the State Department of State are pleased to announce an innovative initiative under which guidelines, technical assistance resources, and examples of successful practices related to housing, community design, planning, and zoning will be prepared for towns and cities across the State.
The intent of the new initiative is to help New York's communities better respond to their dramatically changing demographic profiles and to help them create neighborhoods that reflect the aging and increasing diversity of their populations . . . making New York the best place for residents to live, work, grow up, and grow old.
Following are links to presentations made by five of the speakers at a statewide meeting convened to launch the new initiative on September 4, 2008.
