It's an Age Thing!

The aging network in the Capital Region has been abuzz with the talk of a new public television series called "It's An Age Thing! Our Communities." The 13-episode series, hosted by local TV anchor Mary Beth Wenger, highlights the creative and caring ways people are making a difference by caring for and providing assistance to older persons.

The series, co-produced by the Albany Guardian Society and WMHT, is modeled on a national public television series. Richard Iannello, Executive Director of the Albany Guardian Society in speaking about the new series said, "There are phenomenal and devoted people, whose good work deserves to be showcased on public television. These are 'can do' people, who have rolled up their sleeves and make great things happen. Albany Guardian Society is proud to have collaborated with WMHT to tell these important stories."

Director Burgess appeared on one of the segments that highlighted the naturally occurring retirement community program. He noted about the series, "The Albany Guardian Society and WMHT are to be commended in putting this series together so that the general public can gain a better appreciation of the importance of people and organizations working to improve the lives of the elderly, especially those individuals that may be most in need."

Sharon Wollin who is the producer of the series is an award-winning independent producer, director, writer and broadcast program executive with substantial experience in the development and production of television programming, pilots, documentaries, commercial campaigns and corporate videos. The show appears on WMHT in the Capital Region Wednesday evenings at 7:30, through September.
