The Estate Planning Council of Eastern New York was established in 1936. Currently there are over 200 members from the Accounting, Legal, Trust, Insurance and Financial Planning disciplines dedicated to professional Estate Planning. The objectives of the Estate Planning Council are:

The Legal Aid Society of Northeastern New York is a non-profit law firm which provides free legal services to low-income people in Northeastern New York.

The 'Helping Seniors' site has information on Living Trusts, Power of Attorney, Triad (a cooperative local effort among law enforcement and others to reduce criminal victimization of older citizens and enhance the delivery of law enforcement services to older people).
